TTXGP partners with Infineon Raceway to bring the first zero carbon race to the US in May 2010.
Building on the success of the TTXGP zero carbon clean emission race for electric motorcycles held at the Isle of Man TT in June, Infineon Raceway will make history as the host of the very first TTXGP race on American soil.
The TTXGP U.S. Championships will be held May 14-16, 2010, as part of the raceways AMA Motorcycle Sonoma Showdown weekend. “With the success of the TTXGP on the Isle of Man, we have shown that zero carbon technology is ready to deliver the thrills and passion for both spectators and riders,” said Azhar Hussain, founder of TTXGP. “In partnership with Infineon Raceway, we are taking the next step and proud to be pushing new frontiers in motor-sports technology both on and off the track. Competition improves the breed, so we hope this new US championship will come to be seen as a milestone event in bringing new transportation technology to the world beyond motorcycling. We invite the best and the brightest in the world to join us at Infineon Raceway for the dawning of the next generation of motor sports in the United States.”
Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway, is excited to bring zero carbon motorcycle racing to Northern California.”When it comes to development of zero carbon motorcycles, Northern California is the center of the industry, so it makes perfect sense that Infineon Raceway should host the first event in this historic new series,” Page said. “This will be a terrific addition to our two-wheel racing lineup next May, which also includes AMA Pro Road Racing and Supermoto.”
The TTXGP US Championship will provide an international platform for the development of electric motorcycles, enabling the futuristic technology behind them to be tested in an exciting and challenging way. TTXGP aims to drive low carbon technological innovation forward, to demonstrate that clean-emission transport technologies have matured and can be fun, fast and exciting.
