Metal sculpture wants to create the world’s largest motorcycle

Gary Greff, a North Dakota native, plans on making the world’s largest motorcycle, which would measure 102 feet from wheel to wheel and 42 feet from the ground to the handlebar, according to the Bismarck Tribune.

He wants to build the vehicle next winter and put it together in the summer of 2012. Greff was inspired by a 2003 Harley-Davidson Duce, which will be raffled off to help fund creating the huge sculpture.

Individuals can stop by the Cenex C-store in Regent, North Dakota, and purchase a $20 raffle ticket. The artist predicts that the total cost for constructing the motorcycle will be at least $100,000, the news source reported.

Greff says one of the major motivating factors for building the titanic motorcycle is he that he wants to make Regent a popular destination in North Dakota. He plans to put his sculpture on Enchanted Highway, which is outside the city. He currently has other pieces displayed on Interstate 94, including grasshoppers, flying geese, pheasants, deer and fish, reported the news source.
