American Riders to Race in Indy GP

American riders to race in Indy GP
Fans who turn out for the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix will have the opportunity to cheer on some American riders in the Moto2 competition, as three U.S. racers recently confirmed that they would be joining the field for one-off appearances.

Perhaps the best-known name is Jake Gagne, who competes in Spain’s CEV Buckler championship. Gagne will be using the GP Tech/Fogi Racing/FTR machine, which Jason DiSalvo was able to ride to an impressive ninth-place finish last year, according to Cycle News. DiSalvo will also be in the competion, but on a different bike.

Gagne was excited about his chances this year.

“The bike was really good straight away. We made some little changes, but it was really close from what the team learned last year,” Gagne told the news source. “Hopefully, we’ll get even faster in testing at Indy. So far, it’s been really positive. We’ll keep working to earn the best result we can get in the race.”

They’ll be joined by JD Beach, another American, who will be filling in for the injured Tommasso Lorenzetti. Beach will be riding the Aeroport de Castello/Cartellon Mediterraneo Blumaq team FTR M211, the news source reports.

There’s also one more American rider who regularly competes in Moto2: Kenny Noyes, although he’s more of an ex-pat at this point as he lives and trains in Barcelona, Spain.
