The AMA Superbike series has announced its schedule for the 2012 season, and three new tracks have been added to the competition.
The new locations come to the series via a rekindled relationship with racing promoter M1 PowerSports. M1 promotes races at Road Atlanta, Homestead-Miami Speedway and the brand new NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, Louisiana.
“M1 PowerSports is extremely excited to return to full time event promotion in 2012,” said Cameron Gray, President of M1 PowerSports. “Promoting motorcycle road racing events is our passion and what we do best. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship putting on some of the most thrilling racing events in the country.”
Road Atlanta was on the schedule in 2010, but was not featured this year. Still, the track will likely be new for most of the riders in the paddock in the 2012 season. Homestead-Miami has never been a part of the series and will hold the next-to-last race in September. The newly built NOLA Motorsports Park has also been added to the schedule, and will host the final.
The other tracks on the schedule include most of the usual suspects – Miller Motorsports Park, New Jersey, Daytona, Infineon Raceway, Laguna Seca and others.
