Every year, charity motorcycle rides are held across the country, and the Ithaca Journal recently reported that hundreds of bikers are gearing up for a summertime event in New York. This June, bikers will embark on a 240-mile trip around the state after taking part in a fun send-off event in Big Flats, New York. The 17th annual Pride Ride will raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network and other charities.
“We’re grateful for all the support we get,” Alene Goodman, Children’s Miracle Network coordinator at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, told the news source. “We use the money to purchase equipment, fund programs and for training of staff. Last year, we raised about $1,500. We’re grateful for any additional funds we get from this event.”
This year’s event will feature celebrity guest star Paul Teutul Sr., owner of Orange County Choppers and star of the “American Chopper” series, according to The Corning Leader. He and his team will be giving a live demonstration of their custom bike construction on stage the night before the ride begins.
