The second annual KENDA Tennessee Knockout race will feature a star-studded field of the world’s top off-road riders.
Some of the premiere competitors include Mike Brown, the 2012 X Games Enduro X gold medalist and 2011 Tennessee Knockout winner, and Russell Bobbitt, a four time AMA National Enduro champion. Also competing is the 2012 GNCC Championship point leader Paul Whibley.
Whibley, fresh off a win at the Big Sky XC, will be joined by the Big Sky’s third place finisher Jordan Ashburn. Ashburn, a Tennessee native, is a former GNCC XC-2 champion and finished sixth in last year’s inaugural competition. Both riders compete for the Yamaha team.
“The KENDA Tennessee Knockout is a really tough event, and Paul’s incredible fitness will allow him to compete for the win and Jordan is excited to compete in his home state again,” said Randy Hawkins, the AmPro Yamaha team owner. “They both learned a lot by competing last year and expect to fight for the win.”
Taking place over Labor Day weekend, this brutal test of motorsports skills is done in a multi-round, “knockout” format. Riders race against the clock and each other over both short and long courses. Speed, endurance and strategy will all be tested during the weekend.
