Italy’s Misano Circuit served as the location for Ducati testing, as the manufacturer is in the process of updating its machines for the end of the motorsports season.
After the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello this past weekend, Ducati’s Valentino Rossi stayed in his home country of Italy to get in some test time with the new Ducati GP12 that the factory has been working on.
It’s no secret that Ducati has struggled with its new Desmosedici, the official MotoGP bike for Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden, but recent events have led to more optimism for the Italian brand.
Officially, the fastest time at Friday’s MotoGP test ahead of the race this weekend in Jerez went to relatively unknown rider Ivan Silva of Avintia Blusens BQR FTR-Kawasaki.
Valentino Rossi backed off of the inflammatory comments in Qatar during a press conference for this weekend’s race in Jerez, suggesting that he may have cooled down somewhat since his tenth-place finish.
